On a whim, I decided to broadcast my study on Job on Periscope, today! If you don’t have periscope, it’s a really fun new app that lets people see a piece of your world live as your living it. Or, you can also follow bloggers, speakers, entrepreneurs as they share their craft and specialty with you.
I have already witnessed life on top of the Space Needle in Seattle and the March of the Ducks at the Peabody Hotel. I wonder where else I could go on the app.
Periscope is so new, I didn’t quite do it right. For example, I filmed in landscape mode when it should be in portrait (fixed it for you). And I’m going to need to learn how to interact better with people who are watching. (I love the encouragement, though!!)
But back to this post, Job is such a difficult book. There are many complicating factors. The intense suffering and despair of Job. The theological arguments of the friends. The strange scene at the beginning before God’s throne.
I can’t go into the questions and details that surround much of this book in one post. Instead I wanted to talk about suffering. The hurting and the helping. As I said on youtube,
If you’re suffering, know you’re not alone. I pray you have a comforter, a listener in your life who can help you heal.
If you’re a helper, you don’t have to have the answers. In fact, sometimes it’s best to say nothing at all.
I hope this video is helpful for you. Blessings…
